Dual Toning: What Makes It Different?
Features of Kkeuthan Clinic's Dual Toning
Combining Laser Toning and Genesis treatments does not always guarantee the same results for everyone.
Our Dual Toning meticulously analyzes each patient's individual skin condition to plan a customized treatment.
This aims for more delicate and efficient treatment outcomes.
Rather than simply focusing on the number of treatments or equipment names,
we comprehensively evaluate various complex factors such as pigment depth and distribution, skin sensitivity, decreased elasticity, redness, and enlarged pores,
and establish a personalized treatment direction based on a total of five detailed treatment criteria.
① Pigment Type – If melasma, blemishes, and epidermal pigmentation are the main concerns
This type is characterized by a high distribution of melanin pigments in the epidermis.
Intensive improvement, primarily centered around laser toning, may be necessary.
The focus is on achieving an even and clear skin tone.
② Combination Type – Skin with melasma accompanied by redness
This is a case where dermal pigment issues and redness due to blood vessels appear in combination.
In this case, it may be effective to broadly irradiate with a low-power laser rather than strong stimulation, gradually inducing a skin response.
This may be particularly suitable for individuals with sensitive skin or those who have not noticed significant changes from previous treatments.
③ Redness Type – Skin with noticeable redness around the cheeks or nose
This type primarily exhibits finely dilated blood vessels, heat sensation, and sensitive reddening.
Through Genesis treatment, energy is repeatedly delivered at high power,
aiming to stabilize blood vessels and aid in the recovery of the skin barrier.
④ Fine Wrinkle Type – When the skin is thin, dry, and has many fine wrinkles
This type can experience rough skin texture and decreased elasticity due to lack of moisture.
By utilizing Genesis to broadly and cumulatively irradiate energy deep into the skin,
the treatment is performed to promote collagen production in the dermis and improve skin texture.
⑤ Pore Type – Skin concerned with acne scars or enlarged pores
There are cases where the elasticity around the pores is diminished or shallow scars are present.
The focus is on aiding skin regeneration and remodeling through treatments that provide deep thermal stimulation.

*Dual Toning: What Should You Consider?
Our Dual Toning treatment
does not simply mean a combination treatment using two types of lasers.
1. How deep the pigment is distributed in the skin
2. The sensitivity and regenerative capacity of each skin type
3. Additional skin concerns such as decreased elasticity, redness, or enlarged pores
By deeply considering these various factors,
we establish a personalized plan, from laser wavelength settings to output intensity, handpiece type, and the number of irradiations.
A precisely designed treatment plan tailored to each individual's skin characteristics
is what differentiates our Dual Toning.

Candidates for Treatment
- 01. Those who feel that toning alone is insufficient and are looking for overall improvement in pores and skin texture may consider this.
- 02. This may be suitable for those who are looking for an efficient approach to skin improvement with fewer treatment sessions.
- 03. This may be suggested for those who have skin concerns due to deep and dark melasma and hyperpigmentation.
───────────────
Treatment Process
- STEP 01. Cleansing
- STEP 02. A treatment plan is established and proceeded with through precise consultation tailored to individual skin conditions.
───────────────
Post-Treatment Precautions
- ㆍCleansing and makeup are possible from the day of the procedure. However, we recommend paying special attention to sun protection.
- ㆍIt is important to focus more on soothing and moisturizing care for skin that may be temporarily irritated after the procedure.
- ㆍTemporary swelling or redness may occur after the procedure. This usually subsides naturally over time, but if it persists for several days, please contact the clinic.

What is Melasma, and How is it Different from Blemishes?
Melasma is more than just a phenomenon where excessive melanin pigment is produced and discolors the skin.
It is characterized by the excessive activation of pigment cells called melanocytes, which are located in the deeper layers of the skin.
Melanin produced by activated melanocytes can spread over a large area, sometimes showing a repetitive pattern.
Consequently, it can be described as a complex pigment disorder that affects the dermal layer and remains in the skin long-term.
In particular, external stimuli such as UV exposure and hormonal changes are major causes that further activate melanocytes.
Additionally, subtle inflammatory responses and vascular factors within the skin can also act in combination.
Unlike simple moles, a typical characteristic of melasma is its ill-defined borders and the way pigment spreads over a large area.
Although the number of melanocytes may be observed within the normal range in tissue biopsy results,
a clear increase in the size of these cells and their dendritic processes (protruding structures) can be confirmed.
This results in melanin being transferred more widely and efficiently to surrounding skin cells.
Some patients may also exhibit patterns where melasma lesions are accompanied by subtle capillary dilation or flushing reactions.
In such cases, it may be separately classified and described as 'vascular melasma'.
Melasma is less a disease in itself, but rather a phenomenon where the skin reacts sensitively to external stimuli and
appears due to various irritations in a structurally unstable state.
Therefore, management that goes beyond simply removing pigment, but also improves the underlying causes and skin structure, can be considered important.
While dual toning may be necessary for general pigmentary disorders, it can be considered even more important than simple toning, especially in cases of melasma.
