Kkeut Clinic's Flat Wart Removal!*Flat warts are viral skin lesions caused by infection with the human papillomavirus (HPV). They appear to spread within the epidermal layer and are observed visually as thin, widely spread, small brown or flesh-colored lesions. They are particularly common when immunity is low and can spread through self-contact, making early treatment important.Erbium-YAG laser is effective for evenly ablating the epidermal layer, making it useful for treating extensive flat warts at once. It can uniformly remove lesions while minimizing skin damage. However, due to the nature of viral lesions, there is a risk of recurrence if only the surface lesions are removed. In such cases, the finishing process of applying thermal damage to the surrounding area of the lesion with a CO2 laser can be a clinically meaningful treatment to reduce recurrence rates by additionally coagulating virus-infected cells that may remain in the epidermal layer and its surroundings.CO2 finishing is particularly important in the following cases:-When the borders of the lesion are unclear, or it feels flat and spread out when touched -Individuals with weakened immunity (due to stress, sleep deprivation, etc.) -Those who have experienced multiple recurrences -When the lesion is in frequently touched or easily spread areas such as hands or face. How long should I keep DuoDERM (sticker) on after the procedure?Flat wart removal involves ablating the skin's surface, leaving physical damage to the skin. Therefore, proper protection and management of the wound area are crucial. In particular, keeping the treated area moist significantly impacts healing speed and scar prevention. For this purpose, applying DuoDERM, a hydrocolloid dressing, is recommended.DuoDERM keeps the wound moist, promoting cell regeneration and slowing scab formation, thereby reducing the likelihood of scars. Ideally, DuoDERM should be applied immediately after flat wart removal and managed for at least 7 days, replacing it every 3-5 days. A total management period of about 10 days is recommended. If DuoDERM use is difficult or causes allergies, management should involve frequently applying regenerative cream or moist gel to prevent dryness, rigorously using SPF 50+ sunscreen, and avoiding touching the wound.Post-flat wart removal care is a core process that determines the outcome, going beyond mere wound protection. Neglecting care can lead to scars, so consistent attention is required after the procedure.Kkeut Clinic meticulously guides patients on post-procedure care methods for their quick and healthy recovery.Recommended for these procedures:1. Those who were concerned about moles, seborrheic keratoses, milia, syringomas, or skin tags.2. Those who experienced recurrence after mole removal.Procedure Steps:STEP 01. Self-cleansingSTEP 02.
