[Red, stinging, and oily skin] Seborrheic Dermatitis
If redness, oiliness, and dead skin cells recur, it may not just be sensitive skin, but seborrheic dermatitis. At Kkeuthan Clinic, we do not view seborrheic dermatitis as a simple 'calming treatment.' We accurately analyze chronic inflammation around the sebaceous glands, skin barrier damage, and oil imbalance, and adopt a structural approach that restores immune balance. *VAT not included

What is Seborrheic Dermatitis?
Seborrheic dermatitis is
a chronic inflammatory skin disease that can repeatedly appear on body parts with active sebum secretion.
It is often accompanied by skin redness, itching, greasiness, and scaling.
It sometimes presents a peculiar pattern where it appears oily on the surface but feels dry underneath.
Seborrheic Dermatitis Skin Barrier Restoration
1. Seborrheic dermatitis often occurs due to a weakened skin barrier.
Areas where seborrheic dermatitis commonly occurs, such as the sides of the nose, eyebrows, and around the mouth,
are rich in sebaceous glands and frequently exposed to external irritants.
A high amount of sebum secretion does not necessarily mean the skin is strong.
On the contrary, the more sebum is produced, the more frequent the external exposure, making these areas susceptible to skin barrier damage.
A damaged skin barrier
tends to overreact to various external irritants (bacteria, fine dust, allergens) and
irritants produced within the skin (excessive sebum, metabolites of Malassezia yeast),
causing an excessive immune response that leads to inflammation.
In other words, the skin's self-defense capability weakens, leading to an inflammatory reaction.
2. A weakened skin barrier can be a cause of recurrent inflammation.
The skin barrier plays a role in maintaining and protecting the skin's immune balance.
If the barrier is strong, immune responses to external irritants can be minimized; however,
if the barrier is damaged, even minor stimuli can easily cause redness, stinging, and itching.
While symptoms may temporarily subside with the use of steroid ointments or antifungals,
if fundamental restoration of the skin barrier does not occur, the skin remains vulnerable to external irritants, and inflammation is likely to recur.
3. Restoring the skin barrier is the first step in calming inflammation.
When skin barrier function improves, the stratum corneum becomes healthy and orderly,
proper moisture balance and sebum control are achieved, and overall immune responses can be expected to stabilize.
Ultimately, when the damaged barrier becomes healthy again, an environment is created where the skin can naturally restore itself to its original healthy state.
This is a result that is difficult to achieve with steroids or antibiotics alone.
At our clinic, this is considered a core concept of pharmacopuncture therapy that aids in skin barrier restoration.
Our Clinic's Recovery Care
The Recovery Care pharmacopuncture used at our clinic is
uniquely formulated and applied in a way that encompasses two regenerative processes: restoring the damaged skin barrier to health and calming inflammatory reactions deep within the skin.
By promoting the formation of a healthy stratum corneum in the epidermis and reactivating the skin's protective barrier function,
it provides a foundation for the skin to protect itself from various external irritants and harmful substances.
It can contribute to alleviating symptoms such as recurrent dryness, tightness, and scaling by improving the skin's moisture retention capacity.
In the dermis, it further regulates inflammatory reactions deep within the skin,
which can help alleviate discomforts such as redness, stinging, and itching caused by seborrheic dermatitis,
and supports skin recovery speed, allowing for overall skin regeneration.
In conjunction with this, our clinic also offers calming management using low-irritation ultrasound.
This treatment can help regulate specific gene signals that trigger skin inflammatory responses,
이 관리는 피부 염증 반응을 일으키는 특정 유전자 신호 조절에 도움을 줄 수 있으며,
It manages the imbalance of problematic bacteria on the skin and helps active ingredients be evenly delivered deep into the skin.
It can be comfortably considered for sensitive skin that experiences prominent heat or redness.
Kkeuthan Clinic's Recovery Care
stabilization of the epidermal barrier, management of inflammatory reactions within the dermis, and promotion of skin soothing and active ingredient absorption,
aims for an in-depth improvement of seborrheic dermatitis through these three main approaches.
It doesn't just temporarily alleviate symptoms on the skin's surface,
but is a treatment method that aids in the structural recovery of the skin and restores the balance of immune responses.
If discomfort due to seborrheic dermatitis recurs, or
for those who are dissatisfied with previous management,
we strive to provide help with a more careful and sophisticated approach.
At Kkeuthan Clinic, we meticulously observe individual skin reactions during each treatment,
and provide customized formulations and soothing care accordingly.
Often, complete recovery of the skin is difficult to expect with only superficial treatments.
Kkeuthan Clinic's Recovery Care
has the potential to be the first step in breaking free from the recurring cycle of redness, excessive oil, and sensitivity.
